SACRED
sa·cred/ˈsākrid
Any tangible or intangible form or practice
that directly affects
the subconscious mind and core energetic template.
To understand sacred geometry, first we must define terms.
PROPOSED DEFINITION: “SACRED”. As I have found no technically-adept (i.e., energetically-descriptive) definition of the term “sacred”, I propose a new definition of “sacred” as follows – any tangible or intangible form or practice that directly affects the subconscious mind and core energetic template.
DEFINITION: GEOMETRY. Geometry, in this sense, goes beyond the tradition definition which infers merely a visual dimension of arrangement . A new definition of geometry, presented in the context of “sacred geometry” is, simply, tangible or intangible form – and so may be an arrangement of of visible, auditory, kinesthetic, aromatic or gustatory dimension. Note that this definition is inclusive in the aforementioned proposed definition of the term “sacred”.
There is great positive power in focus upon sacred geometry. Thus we may look, listen, sense movement, smell or taste cues (forms) that directly and immediately affect our core being. Examples of focus upon sacred geometry are looking at distinct shapes/colors, hearing distinct musical tones/rhythms, feeling distinct movement, smelling distinct odors, and tasting distinct tastes that directly (and immeditately) affect the subconscious mind and core energetic template.
The Ancients somehow … through meditation … were able to as-though-magically ascertain which precise visual shapes and colors, precise audible tones and rhythms, precise physical movements, precise smells, and precise tastes could directly affect the subconscious mind.
For example, with regard to sacred geometry – in the form of color, the Ancients determined that the 7 colors of the rainbow respectively affect the 7 major chakras (energy centers according to East Indian tradition). Specifically, red affects the 1st chakra, orange – 2nd chakra, yellow – 3rd chakra, green (and pink) – 4th (heart) chakra, light blue – 5th (throat) chakra, indigo – 6th (third eye) chakra, and violet – 7th (crown) chakra.
Similar to color, the shapes of the 5 (or more) alphabets are sacred – i.e., the specific shapes of the letters directly (and immediately) affect the subconscious mind and core energetic template. So, the shapes of the letters of the Tibetan, Chinese, Sanskrit, Aramaic and Hebrew alphabets as-though program our subconscious mind and core energetic template. Each letter affects the subconscious mind and core energetic template differently. The Ancients determined the precise effect that each respective letter has upon the subconscious mind.
In 1999 I was given a book entitled “The Hebrew Alphabet” by Edward Hoffman (Chronicle Books, SF, 1998). Odd as this may sound, the book suggests that meditation – loosely defined – upon each of the letters of the Hebrew alphabet, may benefit you in specific ways. Believe it or not, before I read the book’s description of how each letter purportedly affects the subconscious mind, I tested each letter – and found that my intuitive sense of the effects of each letter were aligned with the book’s descriptions. Before I share the healing traits of meditation on each of the 22 Hebrew letters, let’s answer the question – what is meditation? In the sense of “meditating” upon the Hebrew letters, the term meditation may be VERY loosely defined. Simply focus on the letters in whatever way is comfortable for you. As an example, I tend to close my eyes and sit in formal seated meditation (on a zafu) and, after sitting in stillness for a few minutes, visualize a specific Hebrew letter in my third-eye chakra (pineal gland), heart chakra, or in the position of the Lower Tan Tien (two to three inches below the navel in the precise center of the body – i.e., in the approximate center of the womb). I focus on body-centered breathing (abdominal breathing, and then possibly Heaven/Earth breathing – see Voice of the Soul: A Call to Action). So, in simplest form I might simply focus on the Hebrew letter in my mind’s eye. Or in my heart. Or in my womb. And might inhale the letter from Heaven into the three areas of the body, then exhale the letter back to Heaven, then might inhale the letter from the center of the Earth (or Earth Star – 2 feet beneath the feet) up the legs to the Lower Tan Tien, then exhale the letter back to the Earth). Experiment! And I might visualize letters in different colors – such as brilliant white, gold, violet if inhaling the letter from Heaven … or might visualize the letter in brilliant white, gold or red, if inhaling the letter from Earth up to the Lower Tan Tien. [This practice is a combination of Qi Gong (see Voice of the Soul: A Call to Action or Encyclopedia of the Tao: A-to-Z) and Kabbalist meditation upon the Hebrew alphabet.] Do whatever you like!
The barometer of the effectiveness of the meditation upon the letters of the Hebrew or other sacred alphabets – or with regard to any forms of sacred geometry – is … how does such meditation feel in your physical body? How is your daily life affected? Do you feel grounding and centered during and/or after meditation on the letters? Do you feel tingling or heat in your body? Does your mind slow down – become less scattered and distracted – after meditation? Does your life situation change – noting even the smallest changes in your typical day (i.e., do synchronicities occur?)?
The following is a quick list of the healing qualities of meditation upon each specific Hebrew letter:
ALEPH – Meditate on aleph to bring a greater sense of the Infinite to everyday activities. Brings a spark of creativity.
BEIT – Meditate on Beit to feel more grounding (stability and comfort) in the world (i.e., more connected to the tangible, material world).
GIMEL – Meditate on Gimel to inspire growth in any aspect of life, personal transformation.
DALED – Open spiritual doorways that have not yet been revealed.
HEY – Inspire greater divine light – revelations.
VOV – To strengthen interconnection, social network.
ZAYIN – To minimize impatience and feeling of being rushed.
HET – To promote vitality and physical health.
TET – To promote a sense of true goodness.
YUD – To overcome stagnation, promote change.
KAF – To improve willpower and intentionality.
LAMED – To promote great learning from the heart.
MEM – To experience “spirit guides” and “angels”.
NUN – To strengthen faith.
SAMECH – To strengthen a sense of divine support in your life.
AYIN – To promote discernment and insight.
PEI – To support your ability to speak effectively.

KUF – To increase spiritual receptivity, especially in mundane daily life.
REISH – To strengthen intuitive sense; to see around corners.
SHIN – To promote peace and harmony in life.

Test this. You may be surprised to see that meditation upon the letters of the Hebrew alphabet, and/or letters of other sacred alphabets, is effective.
