Creativity: Dance, Music, Visual Art

The processes of creation of dance, music and visual art can be a personally (and globally) transformative experience. Evidence exists supporting Paleolithic creation of visual art and, yet, although European evidence of primordial dance and music are less obvious, certainly earliest incarnations of humankind were creating visual art, dance and music. Why? Because …

Creativity is our birthright, our responsibility and our salvation!

Why is creativity our birthright?

As each of us – yes, every human inhabitant of Earth, believe it or not! – is wired from birth (primarily) as a dancer, artist or musician – regardless whether one’s potential for creativity is suppressed or supported.

To recognize whether you are a born artist, dancer or musician I challenge you to take a walk back to childhood … as a kid did you lose track of time more when engaged in movement (dance or athletics), creating visual art (i.e., drawing, sculpting, painting, etc.) or creating music (driving your parents crazy while banging on drums, piano, guitar, woodwinds, etc.)? Thus, from birth, you were wired as an artist, musician or dancer … your birthright!

Note that a common misnomer is that one must be societally judged as proficient at creation to be considered an artist, musician or dancer …

H-O-G-W-A-S-H!

(i.e., that’s a load of bunk … understatement!)

You were born an artist, musician or dancer – regardless how your creativity is perceived by the external world.  And this mode of creativity is a key to avenue – via expression and reception through this mode (i.e., creation or reception of visual art, music or movement) to your eventual evolution. See Voice of the Soul: A Call to Action.

Why is creativity a potentially transformative experience?

(i.e., what levels of our being are directly influenced by the process of creativity)

Conscious creativity engages the process of creation of art, music or dance – while focused on real-time emotion … i.e., you are feeling emotion while creating. Why is feeling an important aspect of creation … Let’s look at a flow-chart template …

First, we create via the five physical senses, right? In other words, we commonly dance (kinesthetic sense), create art (visual sense), and create music (auditory sense) employing three of the five physical senses. And we commonly receive via the five senses including receiving massage (kinesthetic sense), viewing art (visual art and natural beauty such as sunsets, sunrises, rainbows and color – via the visual sense), hearing music (via the auditory sense), smelling fragrant flowers (aromatherapy, etc. – via the olfactory sense), and ingesting nourishing foods  (spices, fruits, vegetables, etc. – via the gustatory sense).

The five physical senses serve as a direct portal to the subconscious mind.

This is the power of the Home Depot (oops – sorry, cannot get this advertisement out of my mind) … er, sorry, this is the power of the five senses. THE FIVE SENSES ROCK!!!! They rock our world … bringing instant healing/transformation/evolution to our core – the subconscious mind and core energetic template (Antahkarana). CREATIVITY ROCKS BECAUSE IT INVOLVES THE FIVE SENSES!  ESPECIALLY WHEN EMOTION (i.e., FEELING) is thrown into the mix … Why? We instantly may release stagnant emotion when in the process of creation (through the five physical senses).

Why is creativity a potentially transformative experience?

(i.e., what levels of our being are directly influenced by the process of creativity)

Again, as conscious creativity (creating while feeling real-time emotion) … directly and immediately influences the subconscious mind and core energetic template.

Can creativity be an equally powerful experience for everyone – or just certain people?

I shall answer this as delicately as possible. Yes and no.  Yes, we all can experience great benefit from conscious creativity.  No – we don’t all experience similar benefit from different modes of creativity. Huh? In other words, one who is an innate (i.e., born) dancer likely benefits more directly and quickly from dance than from creation of music or art. A born-musician likely benefits more directly and quickly from creation of music than creation of visual art.

Note: there are exceptions to every rule – including these rules. So take this with a grain (or two) of salt. For example, everyone – when in dire straits – likely benefits more directly, quickly and more so from dance than creating music or visual art. Why? As dance most quickly and efficiently moves energy of greatest density (i.e., stagnant psychenergy) from the body. Thereafter music moves energy of greater density more quickly than does creation of visual art.

Which parts of the bodymind are primarily affected by the modes of creativity?

(i.e., dance, music and visual art)

Although conscious creativity influences our entire being (bodymind), each mode of creativity primarily serves specific areas of the bodymind.  Dance primarily affects – yes, you guessed it – the feet, legs and lower torso (chakras one, two and perhaps three). Creation of visual art affects neck, throat, head and upper chakras (primarily the fifth chakra and, additionally, the sixth and seventh chakras).  Music is an exception.  Consider this. Which modes affect you most deeply and quickly? Staring at a beautiful sunset or painting for 5 seconds? Dancing for 5 seconds? Or listening to a favorite song for 5 seconds? Most people seem to reply that they are most quickly and deeply affected by music.  Do you agree or disagree? The possible explanation is that music affects the entire being – as it is focused in the region of the heart. The heart and entire body – head to toe – are immediately vibrated by music.

How can we enhance the power of creativity?

By being present – i.e., by being absolutely focused in this moment. And this moment. And this moment. Et al. And being certain to focus on feeling real-time emotion. These are the essential elements of conscious creation.
