Relationship: Zero-Sum Game – Or – Infinite Connection?

Restatement of the Obvious …

* * *

Human energy is finite

(if we are not focused in the truth of who we are

and thereby connected to neither the present moment nor soul).

In contrast

Divine energy is infinite.

The Tao, the source of all, is infinite.

Focus upon the Tao renders infinite energy.

S/he who focuses upon the Infinite

in that moment

is infinite.

How do we connect to the Infinite

In this moment?

By connecting to soul

Rather than ego

By living our highest truth in each moment

By focusing on our unique life purpose and life service.

Through conscious activity, not profane thinking.

And we connect to the Infinite

While engaged in relationship

When we selflessly love

meaning we support the highest path of the other

In every moment

(and they do the same).

* * *

Focus upon people, without focus upon the Infinite,renders finite energy.

In other words, the totality of such p-r-o-f-a-n-e human interaction

is a zero-sum game.

In such a relationship

one participant gains energy

at the expense of the other

(One person gains the energy that the other person loses).

Again, a zero-sum game.

Intuitive Reasoning Centered in the Soul

Integrated Reasoning Centered in the Bodymind

Cognitive and Abstract Reasoning Centered in the Brain

Intelligence exists in many energetic forms.Cognitive understanding involves that aspect of mentality located in the brain. This is superseded by integrated understanding (cognitive understanding that, through experience—particularly through kinesthetic experience, through experience centered in the other four physical senses, and through emotional experience—gains energetic grounding in the bodily aspect of the bodymind). This is energetically superseded by intuitive reasoning (intuitive intelligence). Intuitive intelligence is sourced (i.e., accessed) by the soul, not by the monkeymind. Intelligence sourced by soul is accessed internally via dreams and intuition and, externally, via synchronicity.

LA Meditation Sailing: An Hour of Stillness

During winter-ish months I offer service in the form of meditation sailing (silent sailing) aboard a sailboat from Marina Del Rey (Los Angeles, California) — (meetup.com — LA Sunset Meditation Sailing Group). I offer meditation sails five days per month from November through April. FYI I own/manage/pilot a commercial tall ship (redwitch.com) in Chicago from April 15 through October 15. The LA meditation sails last two-ish hours, during which we are silent for one hour. Meditators/passengers use whatever meditation method they prefer, or, upon request by novices, I will suggest consideration of a simple qi gong-based breathing technique.

Last Saturday evening we experienced a particularly memorable sail. The group and I had meditated for an hour just before the sun began to set. Rather than return to dock, I took a curious glance at each meditator. Each seemed relatively focused upon the moment, still, at peace, serene. Since there wasn’t a subsequent sailing session scheduled (as we had already engaged 4 sailing sessions that day) I decided to remain at sea for a few extra minutes, to enjoy the sunset. Ages 28 and 42: Critical Stages of Development

At ages 28 and 42

Any attachments that are not true to your highest life path

will fall away.

Although this phenomenon is acknowledged as a blessiing by the soul,

This is perceived as loss

And thereby dreaded

By the egoic aspect of the personality.

All human beings develop according to an ages-old pattern. The stages of development follow. Two ages, 28 and 42 years of age, are critical stages in development – for all of us …

“PERSONALITY”

The profane aspect of being that is unaware of unity

with universal consciousness in all its manifestations.

Personality is unaware of the truth of who we are.

Personality is unaware of one’s life purpose and life service.

During years 1 through 13, although we obviously develop a bit on the mental, emotional and spiritual planes, our primary development takes place on the physical level. We physically grow to at least 75 percent of our adult height.

During ages 14 through 20, we primarily develop our emotional aspect. The endocrine systems rages – overwhelming us with zits and, moreso, new-found feelings (emotions) and reactions … especially those that sexuality, romance, etc. Note that holistic medical philosophy recognizes the endocrine system as the transcription agent of the emotions – wherein emotion is considered the body’s response to thought, as emotions are described as bioenergetic substrates stored in the internal organs [See Encyclopedia of the Tao: A-to-Z regarding “Emotion”].

During ages 21 through 27, we primarily develop our mental aspect. During this period we focus on our careers … attending internships, apprenticeships, extensive business-specific training, and graduate school.

The initial 27 years of life are a trial-and-error experiment wherein the personality (profane mind) does research to determine likes, dislikes, strengths, weaknesses, etc. In other words, the first 27 years are an inefficient quest for self-awareness.

Evidence of Global Warming: Government Map of US Planting Zones Updated Due to Warmer Temperatures

As further irrefutable evidence that global warming is significantly effecting the environment, the US Department of Agriculture, for the first time since 1990, has revised the guide for the country’s 80 million gardens. A new guide was needed as the average coldest day of the year isn’t as cold as before, such that some plants and trees can survive in a more northerly climate The map divides the country into 6 zones based upon 5 degree Fahrenheit incremental differences.

And yet, at the recent UN climate conference in Durban, Republic of South Africa, an agreement mandating that a legal body have jurisdiction over greenhouse gas emissions of all countries will, most likely will not be enforceable until 2020 … Too little too late? Stay tuned.

Note that currently, according to the 1997 Kyoto Protocol, only industrial nations are subject to regulation with regard to production of greenhouse gases. The intention of the Durban conference is good — to regulate pollution produced by all nations, and to help lesser-developed nations with economic support such that they can survive with such regulations strictly enforced.

Conscious Career

What we do for a living is of little importance if considered from the perspective of the soul. What matters is that we consciously (i.e., with loving awareness) participate in every moment, regardless of the task at hand. Give from the depth of your heart and act impeccably—in all moments. No matter what is asked of you. No human being is better than any other human being. No job is better than any other job. All jobs are necessary. It is better to be a janitor with an openly loving heart than to be a brain surgeon with a closed heart.

However, each soul on the planet has a unique life purpose and life service [for detailed explanation see Voice of the Soul: A Call to Action]. As such, certain jobs allow us to express these specific talents and missions more easily than do other jobs. So, although it is both honorable and valuable to maintain an open heart (and energy systems) while engaged even in menial work, it is beneficial to maintain a career that supports ultimate expression of one’s unique, soul-aligned talents. Jobs appropriate for our vibration allow us to grow—and help us to ultimately remain open-hearted regardless of activity.

I have an uncle who is a great musician. As a kid he wanted to be a trumpet player. His father (my grandfather) played woodwinds in the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and, like his father, my uncle wanted to follow a similar path. But my grandfather objected. He informed my uncle, when he was 18 years old, that he had two weeks to decide whether he would be a physician, dentist or attorney for a living. Two weeks later my uncle told his father that he would study dentistry — as a default if he couldn’t play music for a career. He went to dental school. Became a dentist. Earned substantial income. Raised a wonderful family. Educated his children. YET every week he played trumpet. His passion for music didn’t subside … it grew each day. As a joke, he designed a license plate for his fancy car which says “DAYGIG” — meaning that although he might be a dentist, in part as it provided financial security, it’s only his day job. He’s a musician …

Similarly, one of the greatest healers I met worked as a janitor in a LA high school by day. His name is Anank, from the Shuar Tribe in Ecuador. Amazing healer. Google him!

Eye Meditation

Eye meditation is a powerful means of communication which, in theory, transcends the communicative capacity of verbal words. Eyes are windows to the Universe. Sensitive beings can sense who someone is by looking into their eyes. We feel their essence. And we can feel their connection to the higher realm, highest consciousness. The practice of eye meditation helps us connect to highest power through focus upon another’s eyes. During this exercise, we meditate, while staring into another’s eyes. Try it. You will find this to be a powerful experience — especially if combined with focus on the breath (see the prior blog regarding body-centered breathing). The longer you remain connected to the energy of higher power via eye meditation, the better. Employ this practice only with someone whom you trust. What do you feel afterward – mentally, physically, emotionally? After such practice do you notice anything shift in life patterns during the following few days?

Money

Money, like everything else, is an energy. Money flows to and from individuals. Should one cut off the flow of money in either direction, the opposing flow ceases as well. In other words, if a miser cuts spending, then incoming dollars are reduced (especially if his intention for use of money is not to serve others)

The individual who chases after money and security, at the expense of their core truth, shall lose touch with their heart. Obviously money is a means, not an end. It’s a tool that can be used to serve others. Or it’s a temptation that can be used to selfishly serve oneself. Used for others, it’s a godsend. Used for oneself, it’s a waste of resources (and a challenging lesson). Money is a flow. The more one directs the flow of money to serving others, the more open the flow of money to oneself.

Right spending serves others. The miser blocks off flow of dollars, both to and from herself. Money is made available to she who follows her heart, given discipline and right action, for the money supports her service.

Leadership

The best leader guides so effectively that followers believe they led themselves. Her hand is perceived as invisible. She proactively creates effective systems that quietly guide. Effective leadership is quiet. It empties people’s minds (egoic monkeyminds) and fills their hearts and souls (with heart-felt purpose—yet not egoic ambition). The best leader follows the will of the people; thereby the people do not know they have been guided. The best leader serves as an example and does not exert their personal will. Leadership is like frying a fish, too much poking ruins either. The world appreciates a great leader.

The second-best leader is loved by the people. The third-best leader is respected. The second-worst leader is feared. The worst leader is despised.

The Law of Attraction

The reason we exist is to evolve.

Our ultimate purpose is to learn about ourselves— i.e., gain self-awareness.

To learn we must master life lessons.

To master life lessons, we must experience.

To experience we need props of experience – namely, specific people, objects and events

Who will trigger our unresolved conscious and subconscious aspects

So we again experience feelings buried prior

Which at the time we weren’t ready to deal with.

The hope this time around is to deal with the freshly revealed feelings

Releasing them in appropriate fashion.

Evidence of our evolution.

We attract specific people, objects and events

Which support our evolution

Via the Law of Attraction.

To master lessons, we engage experiences that challenge the unresolved aspects of the self. Resolution of the unresolved (wounded) aspects of self is evolution. We must experience to evolve. Further, we must be challenged by appropriate experiences—i.e., experiences that serve to teach us lessons that we need to learn. So, how do we find appropriate learning experiences? We attract them.
